Bruce Arians says Andrew Luck was best rookie QB he’s ever seen

Cardinals head coach and former Colts offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach/interim head coach Bruce Arians has seen his share of good quarterbacks throughout his coaching career, but he doesn’t think any of them were better as a rookie than Andrew Luck.

That includes Peyton Manning, for whom Arians was quarterbacks coach in 1998, and Ben Roethlisberger, who was a rookie in 2004 when Arians was receivers coach in Pittsburgh. Arians said during an interview on the Tiki and Tierney show this week that Luck was faster than any of them to pick up an NFL offense.

“It took Peyton three years. Andrew, it was three games,” Arians said, per CBS Sports radio. “He’s brilliant. They say he’s got a photographic memory. I don’t know what the hell it is, but I know you tell him once, and he’s got it. And his athletic ability …
